Lohe Qurani

The best artwork comes from exploration. This one was a challenge i set for myself to use only 2 colours; black & gold. This was painted pure black and then using gold leaf i used the letters of the Lohe Qurani to create the composition.

The literal meaning of the word ‘Loh’ is ‘tablet‘ or anything which heals. The Lohe Qurani comprises of total 29 letters that appear at the starting of Surahs in the Holy Quran. These are Arabic letters and they appear as prefixes at the start of Surahs. These Arabic words are also known as rumooz, meaning codes as their meanings are hidden and are only known by Allah. The design of this piece represents the hidden meaning of these words by hiding and showing the gold and black in the letters. The gold drips from above represent Allahs Mercy. The Lohe Qurani is hung in homes to bring healing and blessings of its hidden benefits by viewing and reciting the letters daily.

This piece was sold at the halal expo at Old Trafford but gold foil prints are available in A5, A4 and A3 and look just as magnificent.
